Crawley - A New Town Grown Up

Post by Nevis » Sun Mar 13, 2016 10:02 am

After hearing the Crawley Schools were using my Photographs when teaching Local History, I’ve always wanted to work out some way to show change in a clearer more cohesive way. In a collaboration, utilising my new images plus the super-fine Editing and Film skills of Darren Smith and Sonny Pitcher, we have put together a simple but tricky 4 minute (Thumb-less) ‘Then and Now’ motion/stills movie picture.
Re-Photographed over a couple of days last month to keep as contemporary as possible and using only the dozen or so good quality vintage postcards I had to hand as a guide, we’ve kept this ‘kinda’ prototype really short.
Have a look if you’ve got a couple of minutes and let us know what you think. Oh, and loan us your old images and postcards so we can look at making it bigger and better. We hope it’s the start of something interesting. Hey, and maybe those Cats at the Town Hall will even take note. Jeff.
