Short Notice Evictions face axe...
The U.K Government has announced that it will consult on abolishing section 21 evictions.
The Government plans to scrap ‘no fault evictions’ - will have a massive impact.
Landlords will no longer be able to evict their tenants without reason. More than 4 million households are in rented accommodation- The citizens advice executive, Gillian Guy, said that the change a was ground breaking shake up and said it would prevent landlords from evicting tenants for simply complaining.
In the past, landlords have used the section 21 legislation to remove tenants without any reason given; this clearly means that tenants who demand their rights are easily evicted. The desperation of homelessness shortens lives and hopes, anything that redresses it can only be a good thing.
