Old Sayings

Interested in the origins of "old sayings"?
We use so many of them, passed down from one generation to another, yet we rarely know where they originate from.
If we find ourselves using one, then WWW it and post any findings!

Questions ? You create your opportunities by asking for them. Patty (Hansen quote)
You would hate having a conversation with me because I love asking questions :-D
More to the point stanwho, in my opinion, I 'm not sure that "Don't Ask Questions qualifies" as an old saying same as in, "a nod is as good as a wink to blind bat" won't fit either ! But, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" is as it can be traced back to the first time it was written :indifferent This was recorded in 1546.
Don't we just hate a smart arse :-D
