Crawley 6 points clear with 4 games in hand over the Wombles and 11 points clear of Luton!
Sorry for the break, I had computer problems.
Last night (Tues) saw Crawley come back from an early 2nd minute shock when Hayes & Yeading went ahead. Crawley 5 Hayes & Yeading 2.
Saturday saw The Reds take the points at an away match against Fleetwood Town. Fleetwood 1 Crawley 2. Keeper Michael Kuipers was stretchered off just before half-time with a thigh injury. Substitute keeper Scott Shearer replaced him and put in a very good appearance. There was some concern that Kuipers could be out for some time and Crawley immediately recalled third keeper Nick Jordan from his loan to Weymouth just in case. The good news is that Kuipers is now expected to be unfit for only 2-3 weeks.
Matt Tubbs continues to knock them in and is well clear as the leagues top scorer adding a brace yesterday. To date he has scored 29 league goals this season, far ahead of the next players on 20.
This Friday sees Crawley host Wimbledon, in what has been described as a pivotal tie where the league would be decided. Indeed, three points would see Crawley stretch the lead to 9 points. A full house is virtually guaranteed in this all-ticket clash. But Wimbledon will really want the points after their recent wobbles and to try to salvage their season. This should be a thrilling match. I shall be listening to the match live on the BBC radio Sussex/Surrey Iplayer and, no doubt, there will be a few nail biting moments!
