xmas scam warning

Postby dub » Sat Nov 05, 2011 9:15 am

Please be advised that the information below is “winging” its way around many email addresses which is a complete HOAX.If you receive this please delete immediately. Please go to this website if you think an email you receive is a Scam go to http://www.snopes.com.

With Christmas fast approaching and a probable rise in having items delivered please be alert to the following information

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

Please share this information to your networks.

Good advice for any type of number you are unsure about.

This scam apparently ended a while ago and has been disconnected. But be aware of the next one.
