Bee-Boy dance crew... DANCE TRACK RECORDED BY KEEF TROUBLE "(I'm a) King Bee" is a 1957 song by blues musician Slim Harpo released as his debut single in 1957.
"(I'm a) King Bee"...
The Rolling Stones covered the song for their self-titled debut album in 1964.
Pink Floyd recorded the song in late 1965. The recording, which features Syd Barrett, Bob Klose, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, is officially unreleased.
The Doors performed this track live in 1970 in Detroit, with Ray Manzarek doing the lead vocals and John Sebastian (formerly of The Lovin' Spoonful) guesting on harmonica.
The band had it recorded and subsequently released it as a live album.
Muddy Waters also released an album with this title and containing the song in 1981. It was his last album, according to the liner notes for the album, King Bee.
John Belushi spoofed the song on the January 17, 1976 episode of Saturday Night Live, performing it live while dressed in a bee costume.
It was covered by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith on the soundtrack for the 2004 film Lightning in a Bottle. Lincolnshire Blues-Rock band 22-20s recorded a version of the song for their live EP 05/03.
The Grateful Dead played a cover version during some of their live concerts in the 60s and early 70s.
